Trash Questions Part II

1. I think that money really became a lot more important to Olivia because she learned what happens to the people who don't have it. She learned that the lack of money creates poverty and that's just the way it is whether you like it or not. I think she also learned how much violence it causes among the greedy rich people and the people who really need money food and shelter.
2. The most liberal newspaper article about Zapanta was "Enough is enough, say students". This article is about college students speaking up about how Zapanta is greedy leader who has millions of dollars lying around is house, and how the best thing that could happen for the country would be a revolution. The most conservative article is "Police Closing in". In this article the writer expresses how professional the police are and how everything is under control. He/She also speaks of Zapanta and how he's already been accused of scandal many times, and how he's prosecuted the critics making the accusations.

3. I think the author would end a book at a cemetery to maybe symbolize the end of the road, aka the end of the book. I also think it touches on the separation of the rich and the poor. The poor in stacks of concrete boxes. The rich in normal graves. Except that at his day, they both are uniting as one for a celebration of their dead family and friends. The scene at the cemetery at the end of the book is one full of mist and mystery. Also with the sadness of the poor being forced to not being able to bury their dead with dignity.

Mountains of Trash

Garbage in Behala
Senator Zapanta
Three boys are on the run to try to find the answer
getting tackled by guards
while families of people starve
they have a bag
with a key a letter and a map
but every corner they turn may be a trap
in a land full of greed
mostly causes need
and a land
full of need some people may need to cheat and
when they cheat they get killed
which is why the boys filled with fear
and fear causes tears
which gives them a reason to fight
which while they're going to find out what happened to Jose that night

1. The prison was full of people in cages instead of cells, they all had only shorts on and their were little children there. They were only high enough for a short man to stand up in. It was also super hot in the room with all the prisoners.

2. Olivia and Gardo got into the prison by paying 10,000 Pecos.

3. Raphael learned that Rat had a small fortune hid away and wanted to go to Sampalo where he was born and make a living being a fishermen.

4. The gardener tells the boys that Jose snuck out the six million dollars in a fridge.

5. I would buy a house and a car and and things to put in it, and I would use the rest to invest in property all over the world.

Respectful Bobby

Misfits
10/12/11

Respect. This is a universal word that makes the world better everyday. It bonds people as friends. It makes peace. Respect is the glue that keeps everyone together peacefully.  The Misfits by James Howe is about a group of kids who suffer from name calling at their school. They aren’t popular, they’re different from everyone else, and they all have their personal issues. So when a chance for change arises as the election for class president come around, they try to start a new party. But when their first campaign doesn’t work, their next shot, thought of by our main character Bobby Goodspeed; Is called the no name-party. A party especially made for the elimination of bad names. Will they succeed?
The main character Bobby Goodspeed is an all around good-hearted person. And though he is a very respectful person, he has a few flaws during the story that he later resolves. Bobby doesn’t always show respect. An example of when Bobby doesn’t show respect is with Mr. Kellermen. Bobby judged him and secretly called him “Killerman”. He also was annoyed when Mr. Kellermen was trying to teach him about tie combinations. (pg 90) Mr. Kellermen was only being disgruntled because of his hard times.   Mr. Kellermen starts to be nice to him later in the story.  Bobby shouldn’t have judged a book by its cover. Bobby disrespected Mr. Kellermen even though he was only being grumpy because he felt bad about his life. He was just lonely and sad. Another person Bobby didn’t respect was himself. He was afraid to ask Kelsy Scoggins out at first, and he was afraid to defend himself when bullies called him names all those years. But then he spoke up for his cause and it paid off. What this shows is that sometimes you need to take risk to get farther in life.
Being disrespectful isn't Bobby’s only quality. But actually a rare aspect of his character. An example of a way that Bobby is actually respectful is when he convinced Ms. Wyman to let them start a third party because he respected her.  What this made me thought was that people react better to respect than to a forceful demand like what Addie was doing. Another example is that he learned to respect himself. He stood up and told them all his speech, and he went to the dance with Kelsey. What this shows is that he learned to respect himself and got a positive outcome which makes him better and happier as a person.
Bobby’s people person personality reminds me of some the important people in history, like Abe Lincoln or Martin Luther King Jr. They both were successful as people, and successful because They were able to show respect. Because they knew how to relate to people and make them understand  exactly what they're trying to say. Abe Lincoln used respect to convince people that slavery was wrong.  Martin Luther King Jr. used respect to convince people that every man, no matter what color, is equal. And all three of these historical men, real or not, made a change.

My Use of Technology

One of the ways that I use technology is for video games. I play with people around the world with my Xbox 360 slim with built in WiFi. Which I play on my 32 in. RCA flat screen TV. I go on Facebook in my room by going on my old iPod Touch with a cracked screen. The screen was cracked when it fell out of my pants in the locker room at the pool. That's why it stays in my room at all times. I have two San disk flash drives that pug into the USB port on my Xbox 360. One with my favorite music downloaded off my HP Windows 7. And one for game and app memory. The cellphone that I use is an LG Rumor Touch. For TV I usually watch my Directv. But sometimes use the Netflix app on my Xbox 360. I think that technology will evolve into new paper, desktops or laptops, only varieties of advanced and basic tablets. And everything will be 3D with an Aroma-Scope and special affects without the need for glasses.
